Man, oh man. Week 7. How are we already here? It feels like just yesterday, we were all picking Clemson to win the ACC and Peyton was reminding us about how elite Maason Smith would be this year. Anyways, lets predict some games.
2:30 KICKOFF / ABC
I hate absolutely everything about this game. The Ducks have owned this series for the better half of two decades now and it was glorious to witness. However, things are changing at Washington for the better, and this series is going to be circled on a lot of calendars for yers to come. Also don’t forget that both of these teams are moving to the Big10 after this year and will become set rivals each season (RIP the Civil War and Apple Cup).
OREGON: Revenge game. Bo Nix came back for his fifth year for this exact moment. Him and Lanning have the opportunity to show how special this Oregon team is. There hasn’t been any indication of him slowing down this year, and I don’t think we’ll see it happen this weekend either.
WASHINGTON: Penix also has the opportunity to not only put Washington on a new level, but solidify him as the Heisman frontrunner. I think this game comes down to Penix’s ability to scramble outside of the pocket and if Oregon’s defensive front is able to contain him.
PREDICTION:
It was always the Ducks.
Oregon 45 – Washington 42
Texas A&M @ #19 Tennessee
2:30 KICKOFF / CBS
Just 7 days ago, the Aggies were licking their chops at the fact that they were about to take on one of the weakest Alabama teams in ages, on their home turf. We know how that went for them, and now they travel to Knoxville to take on a well-rested Tennessee squad. Here’s a little fun stat for you: Texas A&M has not won an away game since 2021, and Tennessee has won 12 straight at home. Talk about a recipe for disaster.
TEXAS A&M: There is quite literally no chance the Aggies win on Saturday if the offensive line shows up in the same way it did against the Tide. It doesn’t matter who is calling plays or what the design is if there are 3 people in the backfield the second the ball is snapped. Better hope it gets fixed, or else most national televisions may get switched to the above game pretty quickly.
TENNESSEE: On both sides of the ball, this game is going to be decided through the trenches. Ultimately, it will come down to how well Tennessee can run on the A&M Defense. I predict a stalemate, which will then force Joe Milton to open it up against an abysmal A&M secondary. Phew.
PREDICTION:
I will talk mad crap on the Aggies until the day they prove me wrong. But does that mean I’m ever going to pick against them? Not a chance. Max Johnson is here.
Texas A&M 31 – Tennessee 21
6:30 KICKOFF / ABC
Up until about 9 pm last Saturday, you could have made a great argument for this game to be the host of Gameday this weekend. Instead, everyone is ignoring this game and what it means thanks to sweet Mario’s god-awful game management.
There are so many factors that come into this, and just about all of them concern the hurricanes. How will Miami respond? Are they pissed? Are they hyped up? The entire world wants to know what is going on in that locker room.
On the flip side, last week Drake Maye had his best game of the season, and seemingly hitting his stride at the perfect time. This is week could be a best-case scenario for Tar Heel fans, as a win this weekend places them nicely up top the ACC and is one less obstacle they have to deal with moving forward.
PREDICTION:
As someone who has watched Mario Cristobal teams for many years now (unfortunately), one thing I’ve always noticed is their grit and determination. And I think that may be the deciding factor this weekend.
Miami 38 – North Carolina 34
6:30 KICKOFF / NBC
An unstoppable force meets an immovable object. The USC Defense vs the ND Offense. Goodness. I won’t keep this long because I don’t see a need to go much more into detail than this:
Alex Grinch should have been allowed to walk on the USC Campus. The Notre Dame Offense is incredibly lackluster. USC’s explosive offense will have an extremely difficult task going up against the Might Irish’s Defense. Excited to see how this turns out.
PREDICTION:
I will never cheer for that garbage school in LA.
USC 28 – Notre Dame 35
7:00 KICKOFF / FOX
Dante Moore (Aggie Legend) takes on Oogabooga this weekend in a game that will probably decide the difference between fourth and fifth in the Pac-12 this year. So, congrats to the winner, I guess?
Both of these teams are improving each and every week, but unfortunately don’t have the firepower or depth to make a run this year. I think this game ends up being the classic older, game manager being able to handle expectations and lead his team to a solid win over a younger, but very talented signal caller.
PREDICTION:
I’m picking the Beavers…..?
Oregon State 31 – UCLA 17
A lot of interesting games this week, plus Monster Jam happening at the one and only AT&T Stadium tomorrow night.
Like I’ve said before, I am not a betting man. However, I am someone who wants to help the fellas gain some coin here and there. Oregon ML (+125) / Duke -3 (-125) currently comes out to a nice +305 Parlay for your weekend. Consider it.
Also, Andre Petroski ML, and maybe sprinkle some on Grave Digger fastest lap.
Let’s Have a Day, Fellas.
